Video - Creating Clay Animations

Camera /Editing Techniques

I used a Sony Digital Handycam with video flood lights to film the video. A tripod was used to hold the video camera steady. A combination of close-up, medium and long shots were used to capture the necessary video.

Pinnacle Studio Plus Version 10 was used for the video editing. Transitions, title and sound were added to the video using Pinnnacle Studio. Scrolling credits were used to animate the final credits.

A Picture in a picture (PIP)composite shot was used to show the items on the table while listing materials. PIP was placed in the upper left hand corner and sized to keep it out of the way of the action on the screen.

Discuss list of necessary supplies.
Discuss storyboard creation.
Long shot with PIP used to show supplies.

Used to show how clay character created. Used close-up shot of hands forming clay.

Directions for creating "stage" for character.
Medium shot with camera angle adjusted to show action on table as stage created.
